In order to overcome the disadvantages of existing brake system for Chinese-built electric locomotive,a micropresessor-based controlling system which can make real-time detection and control of locomotive braking state was studied.The general design consideration of the system was put forward,and its main characteristics,composition,operating principle and parameters.The system is controlled by single-chip computer AT89C51.By collecting and processing the locomotive speed signal,braking cylinder pressure signal,unit brake state signal,locomotive running condition signal,it is posible to realize the real-time detection and display of locomotive braking state,and to warn driver of possible anormal conditions,e.g.locomotive driving wheel loosening,so as to protect accident from being extended and aggravated.
