A sol-gel process was used to synthesize nano-ZnO by using Zn(CH3COO)2·2H2O,H2C2O4·2H2O and CH3CH2OH as raw materials.The sphere-shaped product had an average diameter of 30 nm with uniform particle distribution and good dispersivity.The rod-like ZnO particles were obtained by adding triethanolamine to the reactive system on the basis of above reaction.The effects of organic additive triethanolamine on morphology of nano-ZnO were studied by Transmission Electron Microscopy(TEM).The results show that triethanolamine plays an important role in the process of rod-like ZnO particles' formation,and that the morphology of rod-like nano-ZnO is different with different quantities of the additive.So the morphology of nano-ZnO can be controlled effectively by triethanolamine.
