There is a plethora of wind energy available. However, intermittency is the major difficulty faced in the integration of wind power into electrical grids. One of the approaches that deal with such an intermittency is predicting the forthcoming values for the production of wind power. Numerous models for the prediction of wind power have been developed globally, for example, ARMINES, prediktor, Previento, WPFS Ver 1.0, WPMS, WPPT and many more. This paper gives a review based on the equivalent study on headmost forecasting models, based on different methods of wind power forecasting for easy management of transmission of energy. Also, this review paper gives a brief description of different wind power forecasting models based on different time-scales.
