摘要
Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a non-invasive imaging technique that has been employed to analyse paintings and cultural heritage objects. It provides high-resolution cross-sectional imaging, revealing layer structures, pigment application, and surface treatments, while preserving the integrity of fragile artworks. This study applies OCT to the Beatus of Saint-Sever (BnF Latin 8878, France) to assess preparatory drawings, identify distinct pictorial techniques, and analyse artistic collaboration. When combined with X-ray fluorescence, luminescence, and hyperspectral imaging, OCT enhances pigment analysis and structural interpretation, demonstrating its potential for advancing the study and conservation of historical manuscripts.
