摘要
We report for the first time a 1.6T linear-drive optical engine (LOE) developed following the Chinese co-packaged optics (CPO) standard. 1.6T LOE is based on the 4×400G parallel single-mode architecture. To partially compensate for the high-speed electrical channel losses, both the driver and trans-impedance amplifier integrates equalization functions. The silicon photonic chip in this LOE integrates V-grooves to reduce coupling difficulty. The LOE transmitter achieved a high extinction ratio (ER) of 4.06dB and a low transmitter and dispersion eye closure quadruple (TDECQ) of 1.42dB. Moreover, the LOE receiver achieved a sensitivity as low as -8.35dBm. The transmitter and receiver were interconnected through 500m fiber and achieved a low bit error rate (BER) of 3.22E-10. In short, the specifications tested by LOE have reached the level of commercial pluggable optical transceivers.
