In article number 1400038, Niko Münzenreider and co-workers present stretchable oxide electronics that combine the mechanical properties of deformable elastomers and the electronic functionality of high-performance, thin-film devices based on oxide semiconductors. When exposed to >200% strain, the functionality of devices and circuits is ensured by composite substrates with stiff islands or wavy geometries for accordion-like electronics. This has the potential for soft and biocompatible electronic systems, such as electronic skins.
