Objective To investigate the clinical features of different pathological subtypes of adenosquamous carcinoma of the lung. Methods Adenosquamous carcinoma of the lung was divided into independent growth pattern and mixed growth pattern according to the distribution of two different components. And adenosquamous carcinoma of the lung was divided into adenocarcinoma-predominant pattern,composition-comparative pattern and squamous carcinoma-predominant pattern according to the content of two different components. The clinical manifestation and postoperative survival time of different subtypes of adenosquamous carcinoma of the lung were analyzed, and the correlation was studied between pathology and clinical features. Results No significant correlation was found between pathological typing and gender, age, smoking, disease course, symptoms, surgical resection rate and P-TNM staging. Most cases of adenocarcinoma-predominant pattern were peripheral lung cancer, mainly displaying as infiltration or atypical changes under bronchoscopy, and most of squamous carcinoma-predominant pattern cases were central type lung cancer, mainly displaying as mass under bronchoscopy. The rate of mediastinal lymph node metastasis was higher in adenocarcinoma-predominant pattern than that in squamous carcinoma-predominant pattern. The survival time of independent growth pattern was longer than that of mixed growth pattern, and the survival time of adenocarcinoma-predominant pattern was the shortest, followed by composition-comparative pattern. The survival time of squamous carcinoma-predominant pattern was the longest. Conclusion Pathological typing is associated with the clinical feature in adenosquamous carcinoma of the lung.To study the correlation will contribute to the diagnosis and prognosis.
