Unravelling the heterogeneity of epilepsy for optimal individualised treatment: advances in 2019

One of the biggest challenges in epilepsy research is the vast heterogeneity of the disorder, including differences in causes, seizure types and severity, neurophysiological and neuroimaging characteristics, comorbidities, and the individual factors that should be considered in treatment selection.
