摘要
In this paper, a novel compact frequency selective surface (FSS) structure for mitigation of electromagnetic interference (EMI) leading to effective EMI shielding in the Xband region is presented. The proposed FSS structure is based on a newly proposed unit cell comprising of four modified circular loops interconnected with each other via a central loop. The proposed structure is designed on the conventional FR-4 substrate, and the simulation is carried out using the full wave EM simulator in order to optimize various parameters so that a minimum of 10 dB EMI shielding is achieved in the entire X band frequency region along with the attenuation maxima of 37.1 dB at 10.88 GHz. The performance of proposed structure is verified experimentally, which shows almost polarization independent characteristics under both TE and TM polarizations up to 60 degree oblique incidence. The measured performance of the proposed FSS structure shows potential application in the area of electromagnetic shielding for various commercial and strategic applications.
