摘要
Glioma originates in the glial cells of the brain and is the most common intracranial malignancy. Current treatments include maximal surgical resection and aggressive radiotherapy and chemotherapy. However, conventional treatments are often accompanied by high recurrence rates and poor prognosis, and better treatments are needed to change this. As immunotherapy has revolutionized cancer treatment, it has led to new treatment modalities for a variety of tumors. Immunotherapy includes various modalities such as chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy, immune checkpoint inhibitors, oncolytic viral therapy and vaccine therapy. In this article, we provide an overview of recent advances in immunotherapy for gliomas to enhance the understanding of advances in immunotherapy for gliomas and to make immunotherapy a better approach in the clinical treatment of gliomas.
