Research on Preparation and Properties of SiO_2 Nanospheres Wrapped with CS/PAA

Chitosan/polyacrylic acid (CS/PAA) nanospheres were successfully prepared with acrylic acid and chitosan via solution polymerization. Chitosan was directly dissolved in polyacrylic acid solution. And initiator was added to initiate polymerization in N2 atomosphere. Then the surface of chitosan nanospheres was cross-linked by glutaraldehyde. Based on what above, SiO2 nanospheres were in-situ coated by CS/PAA. The morphology, dispersity and fluoresent properties of the products were characterized by SEM, TEM, XRD, FTIR, and PL, and the formation mechanism of the products was simply discussed.
