摘要
Aquaporins (AQPs) are channel proteins associated with the major intrinsic protein (MIP) superfamily which play a major function in plant water relations. The crucial function of aquaporins in plants is transportation of water and other neutral molecules over cellular membranes. AQPs have important properties to aid in water flow and facilitate them for water movement into and out of the cells. Therefore, the management of AQPs' function and gene expression direct the adaptation events under stress conditions and believe in intricated methods and signaling events as well as complex transcriptional, translational, and posttranscriptional factors. Gating of AQPs by several events like phosphorylation, tetramerization, pH, cations, reactive oxygen species, phytohormones, and other chemical agents might play a function in plant responses to stresses by regulating the uptake and transportation of water in the plants. This section has deciphered the response of aquaporins (AQP) protein in plants to water-deficient condition.
