Social isolation is an epidemic with health effects spanning from heart disease to depression. However, social isolation has many causes, and the effects of social isolation may vary depending on its cause. We queried the relationship between socially-relevant variables and the gene regulation program known as the Conserved Transcriptional Response to Adversity (CTRA), in a non-clinical population enriched for social disconnection.
