Study on piezoelectric and dielectric properties of nylon /PZT composites

Nylon/PZT composites consisting of polyamide multipolymer and lead zirconate titanates(PZT) were prepared by melt blending and hot-molding technique.The piezoelectric properties and dielectric properties of prepared composites were investigated.The results show that a new kind of polymer/PZT composites with good piezoelectric and dielectric properties can be obtained using nylon as polymer matrix.The nylon/PZT composites possess the maximum relative permittivity of 155 and piezoelectric constant of 55 pC/N when the volume fraction of nylon is 0.20.
