Occupational commitment, education, and experience as a predictor of intent to leave the nursing profession.

This national Internet-based study tested occupational commitment in predicting RN intent to leave the nursing profession. Results showed that occupational commitment was increased by educational level and experience. Findings suggest opportunities for policy changes that may increase retention of registered nurses.
