Characterizing Single Crystal Ni-Rich Cathode Materials: From Cathode-Electrolyte Interphase to Single Crystal Growth

This talk with highlight recent progresses of single crystals R&D and manufacturing. Different tools will be discussed to understand the cathode-electrolyte interphases using single crystal Ni-rich cathode as a platform. The testing protocols and baseline performances developed under CEI consortium will be highlighted to emphasize the correlation between fundamental research and practical batteries. In addition, in situations probing of single crystal growth will also be discussed to inspire more revolutionary approaches to reduce manufacturing cost of single crystal cathode materials.
