This paper studied on the transpiration traits of Populus euphratica planted by human and grew in nature and the influence on them by environmental factors. The results showed that although there is great difference in soil water between artificial and natural Populus euphratica forest, the total transpiration intensity is similar to each other, indicating that artificial and natural Populus euphratica having the same age need equal transpiration water; there are differences in the maximal transpiration rate and the diurnal fluctuation between artificial and natural Populus euphratica. The maximal value of transpiration rate of the natural forest is significantly more than that of the artificial one, the fluctuation behaves ‘double-peak’ curve in the artificial Populus but a ‘single-peak’ curve in the natural one; stomatal transpiration influenced by light intensity and humidity is the main form of transpiration in artificial and natural Populus forest. Those results also indicated that Populus belongs to light-humidity type, liking humidity, lightfastness, so certain amount of water in the soil is needed to guarantee the basic growth of Populus.
