Function of ADRP in lipid droplet formation

ADRP, locating in lipid droplet surface of a variety of cells, is a major component of the lipid droplets, and plays an important role in the formation of lipid droplets. ADFP is the first lipid droplets protein that appears during adipocyte differentiation in vitro. It is important in the activation and storage of lipid droplets. This article tried to review the function of ADRP in lipid deposition of pancreatic β cells, fatty liver cells and foam cell and the mechanism of lipid droplets deposition.
