Lanxess increases US capacity for polymeric flame retardant

German speciality chemicals group Lanxess reports that it has completed a major debottlenecking project at its recently acquired Eldorado, AR, USA, plant for the production of the Emerald Innovation 3000 flame retardant. As a result, the unit's output of the brominated polymeric flame retardant has been increased by 40%, from 10 000 to 14 000 tonnes per year.
