(±)‐Guignarenone D: First Total Synthesis and Its Glucose Uptake Activity

Abstract The synthesis of (±)‐guignarenone D was achieved for the first time on a gram scale through a nine‐step reaction sequence. A pivotal step in this process involved cyclization using NaH, and thereby retro‐aldol was inhibited. Its activity promoting glucose uptake was also tested.
