This report describes the implementation of a data acquisition and control system which has been interfaced with a plug flow reactor used in combustion experiments at the SNLL CRF. Emphasis is placed on the hardware integration and software design aspects of the system. The specification for the the data acquisition and control system called for measurement of temperature and gas flow, as well as control of a stepper motor based probe positioning system. The hardware used for data acquisition and control would conform to the IEEE-583 CAMAC (Computer Automated Measurement And Control) standard. An existing computer program which computed gas concentrations was modified for use as the main data acquisition and control program. Temperature measurement and stepper motor control capabilities were incorporated into the system to complete the plug flow reactor data acquisition and control system.
