The researches on effect of inlet structure on the performance of cyclone separator were reviewed in this paper.The inlet geometry included inlet structure type,inlet section shape and inlet declination angle,etc.It was regarded that different inlet parameters affected the performance and energy consumption of cyclone separator greatly.With the increase of inlet number,the pressure drop of cyclone reduced and separation efficiency decreased after rising first,the double inlet cyclone was the optimal choice.Adopting inverted triangle as inlet section shape was conducive to improve the separation efficiency,but the pressure loss increased.For rectangular inlet cyclone separator,increasing the ratio of height to width was beneficial to improve the separation efficiency,but also increased the pressure loss.With the increase of inlet section angle,the pressure drop reduced and separation efficiency decreased after rising first,there was an optimal inlet section angle.Helix declination angle could improve the separation performance of cyclone separator,reduced pressure loss and alleviated effectively the ash ring existing at the roof of cyclone.
