Strain hardening behavior for different types of materials has been investigated. The experimental results show that the average hardening rate is high for metastable materials with strain induced martensite transformation, and the hardening exponent varies by parabolic type with increasing strain; the average hardening rate for materials with twin structure after deformation is less than that of the above materials, the hardening exponent increases linearly with increasing strain; the average hardening rate for the materials without changing of structure is the least, the hardening exponent is a constant.
