In acid medium, dye malachite green (MG) and cationic surfactant cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTMAB) can react with Deoxyribonucleic acids (DNAs), resulting enhanced resonance light scattering (RLS) signals at the wavelength of 300 0 nm, 337 6 nm, and the range between 450 0-500 0 nm. By using the enhanced RLS intensity at 337 6nm, 0 0-2 0 μg/mL ctDNA and fsDNA can be determined with the determination limits of 64 3 ng/mL and 44 7 ng/mL, respectively. The present method was successfully applied to the determination of nucleic acid in synthetic samples.
