With the 12.7 mm Armor Piercing (AP) ammunition, this paper focused on the performance of the ceramic/aluminum armors when subjected to the oblique impact at the different obliquity,and investigated the influence of effects of obliquity on the ballistic properties of such armors. DOP method was used to evaluate the ballistic properties of composite armors. It was found that effects of obliquity of ceramic composite armor was normal, namely ballistic properties increased with obliquity. When composite targets were attacked by AP, the formation of reverse conoid of ceramic in the front face of ceramic was the main reason for the improvement of ballistic properties of ceramic/aluminum composite armor.
