The study aimes to investigate the optmium extraction technology for flavonoid compounds from the bamboo leaves and provides a theoretical basis for the utilization of bamboo leaves. With bamboo leaves as the tested material and ethanol as the solven, the content of total flavonoids in bamboo leaves is detected by visible spectrophotometry. The effects of ethanol concentration, ratio of sample with ethanol solution, extraction temperature, extraction time on the extraction yield of flavonoids are studied through the single factor test and the optmium technology conditions of extracting the total flavonoids are optmized by using the orthogonal experiment.Single factor test and orthogonal tests show that the factors that affected the extraction yield of flavonoid are in the order of ratio of sample with ethanol solution alcohol concentration extraction temperature extraction time. The optimal determination conditions as follows:the 60 % ethanol is used as impregnant, the ratio of sample with ethanol solution 1:20,the total flavonoids are extracted at 60 ℃ for 4 hours. The average content of total flavonoids in bamboo leaves is 7.88 mg·g-1 under the optimal determination conditions.
