Effect of VBE-3 on the Growth of Human Hepatocellular Carcinoma HepG2 Cell Line

Objective To observe the growth inhibitory effect of VBE-3,a lignan from the acetoacetate extract of Vitex negundo seed in human Hepatocellular Carcinoma HepG2 cell line in vitro.Methods The cell viability of HepG2 cell line and human embryo liver L-02 cell line were examined by MTT assay.The cell growth of both cell lines was determined by cell count method.Results VBE-3 significantly inhibited the cell viability of HepG2 cells in a concentration-dependent,and had little effective on L-02 cells.Meanwhile,VBE-3 also selectivity inhibited the cell growth of HepG2 cells in vitro.Conclusion VBE-3 selectivity inhibits the cell growth of HepG2 cells in vitro.
