Advances in research on pharmacological activities of organosulfur compounds in Allium sativum L.

The main pharmacological components of Allium sativum L.are organosulfur compounds(OSCs).Garlic OSCs can inhibit the growth of tumor cells and induce the apoptosis of tumor cells by various pathways.Garlic OSCs also have such pharmacological effects as inhibiting bacteria,promoting immunity,preventing and treating cardiovascular diseases.Advances in research on pharmacological activities of garlic OSCs are reviewed in this paper.
