摘要
Ophthalmic drug delivery is one of the most challenging aspects to ensure optimal therapeutic benefits. Electrospinning due to its simple and robust technique allows fabricating nanofibres from a wide range of polymers and drugs with suitable specifications to meet the medical needs of various ocular applications. The objective of this review was to summarise the recent advances in nanofibre research for ocular drug delivery and ocular tissue engineering. Based on the recent literature evidence, it is suggested that polymer properties and fibre structure are critical in determining the therapeutic potential of nanofibres in various ocular diseases.
