A combined process of microwave-assisted and ethanol refluxing extraction was applied into extraction of baicalin.The effect of microwave heating time,ethanol concentration and ratio of material to liquid on baicalin yield was investigated systematically.The results show that the extraction time of baicalin is shortened markedly with microwave technology,but the yield will decrease with continuous increase of microwave heating time.The optimal process is as follows: microwave heating time 4 min,ethanol concentration 50%,the ratio of material to liquid 1∶10.The effect order of above three factors on baicalin yield was confirmed with orthogonal experiment.The results show that the effect of ethanol concentration on baicalin yield is more remarkable than the others.
