摘要
The last 10 years has seen the emergence of mobile health and the promise of a revolution in clinical research and consumer health. The data gathering capabilities of mobile devices offer unprecedented insight into disease and behavior through the development of countless digital biomarkers - signals in digital data that predict status, symptoms, or outcomes. On the back of this promise, hundreds of companies have been founded and hundreds of thousands of health-focused mobile apps have been dropped into the consumer and medical markets. In 2020, venture funding for health technology startups and consumer adoption of digital health products increased dramatically. Health technologies startups are increasingly leading the way and innovating the science of digital biomarkers. To advance this translational research, this panel will bring together leaders and researchers from health technology startups to facilitate a discussion on the role of digital biomarkers in developing and deploying digital health products. In this panel, we will have panelists presenting on: (1) Evaluating digital measures across clinical research and virtual care, (2) Monitoring health and cognition through speech biomarkers, (3) Digital measures for generating evidence and for generating engagement, and (4) Developing integrated digital therapeutics and digital biomarker technologies for health. We will conclude by discussing the future of digital biomarkers and health technology.
